about us

Recognized as a leader in the industry for over 19 years.

Founded in 1990 by Andrew Robinson, who trained at the International Boat building Training Centre in England, Andrew has built the business up from a small concern, into the thriving and well respected firm, employing up to 60+ staff at peak times. Captains feedback has been consistently good and Woodstock's evolutionary growth has come about by building a quality reputation along the way, which has been a foremost issue at all times, as well as having a commitment to working beyond ‘normal hours’ – to suit each individual yacht’s demands.

Woodstock began as small carpentry business and over the past few decades has developed into the thriving, professional refit operation it is today. With this in mind, Woodstock has now restructured the staff to include highly experienced Project Managers who really understand the needs of the yachts they work with, along with specific managers to look after their Metalworks/Engineering department, and Fiberglass/GRP department.

This organizational structure now sees Woodstock well set up to look after major jobs, both 'in season' and through the summer (for which we have heat-shrink covers to allow rain-free deck and paintwork). Indeed, the past couple of years have seen them carrying out numerous major refits to professionally crewed yachts; that have included many complete re-decking jobs, plus fitting the Micad Marine monitoring system and a substantial amount of engineering, systems analysis and steel fabrication works.

Besides the dedicated carpentry and paintwork facilities (that include GRP/carbon/composites repairs); we also have an in-house engineering and welding/fabrication department fully equipped for lathe and mill works, plus MIG and TIG welding in both stainless steel and aluminum. This metalwork department was kept extremely busy last year in the hands of the highly experienced stainless/aluminum fabricator; and have consequently further expanded stocks of 'in-house' hardware, and invested in some new mobile TIG welding equipment; some smart new 3 phase machinery (dedicated for 'heavier' work), and many new tools to enable Woodstock to provide the very best level of service at all times.

Woodstock also have specific equipment and trained staff for marble polishing / corian works. Woodstock are the Caribbean agents for ‘Teak Decking Systems’ along with being agents for Allspars (Plymouth UK), and Westerbeke and Fischer Panda; further to which, Woodstock also stock a range of Belonzoni marble products and polishes.

Last season again saw Woodstock working with a number of high profile yachts in the Super yacht industry – both sail and power - that included carrying out ‘authorized warranty works’ aboard a number of new build yachts. We have also had various yachts coming to Antigua from other Caribbean islands and Europe to do carry out a variety of woodwork, paintwork and welding/fabrication works. Past seasons have even seen loyal yachting clients chartering helicopters to fly the Woodstock paint crew to carry out works at other island locations.

Yet through all the growth of this business, there is still a saying at Woodstock that 'no job is too small' and whatever one's needs, Andrew and his competent team at Woodstock are always on hand and ready to help in any way we can.
